Our volunteers are an integral part of our operation and the organization could not survive without the services of these devoted individuals. They are people with a belief in the cause of the organization and are using their spare time and resources to help individuals from African and Caribbean origin who have or are experiencing a mental health problem.

Skills and Roles |
Our volunteers are skilled in various areas. While some are trained counsellors and help with counselling sessions for members, others play the role of befrienders for our members. Some volunteers do home visits to people at home, while others visit members on admission on hospital wards or forensic units. A large number of our members also help to run the various groups and drop-ins throughout the week.
All our volunteers have gone through a 10-week intensive training programme on mental health awareness, police checks and formal interview process to assess their suitability.

How can I volunteer |
We welcome people of African and/or Caribbean origin from all walks of life to come and volunteer with us.
Any and every kind of skill that you have would prove useful for the organization and there is also a chance to develop further skills while working as a volunteer for the organization.
